Fruit Sale Information

The fruit sale has been a traditional fundraiser for the DHS band, and it's that time of year again. Everyone should have gotten a Fruit Sale flyer during band, so go out and sell as much fruit as you can! Profits go to DeKalb Music Boosters. If anyone wants to order on-line, go to www.FloridaIndianRiverGroves.com and enter ID# 339361. If you have questions, call Misty Haji-Sheikh at 815-263-0034.

Everyone please note that the calendar has been updated again. Preliminary times for basketball season are now included as well as practice and performance updates for the outdoor marching season. Our first competition will be October 1 at NIU and we have a 4:45 call time in the band room.

Back to School

Who's ready for school? Not me! But that doesn't mean you can skip out on band practice. After-school marching band practice will be from 6-8 p.m. this Tuesday (at DHS) and Wednesday (at the NIU football field). Every other week will be Monday and Wednesday from 6-8, but this week is different due to Labor day.

Music Booster Information

The DeKalb Music Boosters is looking for parent involvement & new members to help at a few upcoming DHS Events. They will have a table at the Open House/Dedication Weekend being held August 26 and 27. They need parents to help sell tickets for the Castle Challenge Game and a percentage will help profit the music programs. Raffle tickets will also be sold for a chance to win a parking pass for the school year.

The first Music Booster meeting will be Sept. 15 at 7:00 pm at the new DHS band room. They will be discussing the upcoming year events & fund raisers. All are welcome to attend.

Call Angel 754-2120 with any questions concerning these events.

4th & Final Summer Rehearsal!

Hey everyone! Remember to go to the 4th and final Summer Marching Band practice on August 2nd from 1-3 pm! Don't forget it, don't skip it, and don't make excuses, especially if you are a freshman who hasn't been to one yet. These practices are important for memorizing music for band camp. See you there!

Hey Freshmen

Check out the new Freshmen Central page under Resources. I'll be putting up everything you need to know about your first year as a DHS Band Member. Also, for veterans who have forgotten what you need for band camp, this is a great place to refer back to. Hope it helps!

Happy Summer!

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having a great summer so far. This is Kelan Graddy, the Sophomore Mellophone, and I am the webmaster for this band site! I'll be adding the dates for summer rehearsals as well as fall events such as Band Camp, competitions, and football games. If you have anything band related, like photos and videos from previous years, please e-mail them to me at kelan@dhsband.org! Things like that are much needed and would look great on this site! I will also be working with Mr. Lundin to get all important sheet music for each instrument in each band up on the Login page down at the bottom of the screen. This will be password protected, but the password will be given out to all band members at Band Camp this summer. Come back often for updates on everything "DHS Band".
